ABOUT ME
I am a graduate of WKU with a bachelors in architectural sciences. Unlike many other designers, I have had a wide variety of real world job experiences that have taught me communication, leadership, and design. I currently am a designer/draftsman for El Paso Electric. In the past I have worked with both faculty and students as a Residential Assistant where mediation and communication were key. I have also worked with Western Kentucky's Architectural and Manufacturing Sciences Institute (AMSI) where I learned from faculty and worked with my peers.
I have also had the pleasure of working with Builders by Design, a design/build firm, where I have been entrusted with several larger projects. From these internships I have not only gained a great deal of experience, but have realized the importance of "good design." I understand that one cannot simply create pieces of art. Buildings must be structurally functional and should co-exist within their environment.
As a child I enjoyed redrawing house plans that I found in newspapers and handouts. I also loved to build with legos creating extravagant, multicolored buildings. Growing up surrounded by nature on family farms has fueled a passion for sustainable design. I have always been interested in working with nature to produce a building that is both healthy and efficient for its occupants.
In my spare time I enjoy horse back riding, working with cars, and riding my motorcycle. As part of my adventurous spirit I enjoy traveling and experiencing new things along the way.
